IT provides electronic and information technology (EIT) review to help departments meet requirements of UM's Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility policy. Accessible Technology Services provides software and hardware review as part of Procurement along with a variety of other reviews to ensure that documents, instructional materials, media, software, hardware, computing systems and websites meet accessibility requirements.

To access your migrated content, you will first be enrolled into the Migrated Shell as a non-editing teacher, as these courses are read-only to serve as an archive of Moodle content.
External tools, such as LTIs, integrate an external learning resource with Canvas. UMOnline will evaluate your request to determine if it can be installed in Canvas.
When you create a backup of a course, you’re essentially creating a file copy of your online content that you can store for future use/reference. Backup files can be restored into a blank Moodle shell.
In Canvas, Teachers don’t have the permission to enroll or unenroll users in their courses. If you need a user unenrolled or enrolled as a Guest, TA, Learning Assistant, Non-Editing Teacher, ODE Assistant or Designer, UMOnline and UM IT can help. You must be the course's teacher of record to request this.
If you want to open your course early to students, before the official term start date, you can provide read-only access by publishing the course right now. Doing so will allow students to review the material.

Steps for Logging into Read&Write/Orbit Note for Win and Mac. After you register for Read&Write, you will receive a link to download to software. Orbit Note doesn't require registration. After downloading the 30-day trial of Read&Write for your operating system, follow the login information below to activate Read&Write after the program installs. These instructions work for both Windows and Mac. Orbit Note is cloud-based and does not require download or installation.

Student Incompletes can be administered in Canvas for qualified students. This allows teachers to grant an extension beyond the course's official end date so a student can finish outstanding coursework.

Students registered with UM's Office for Disability Equity may request alternative formats for their textbooks through Central IT's Accessible Technology Services.
